I see vanilla orchids, tropical fruit trees, and a strawberry patch for children to get messy in. Wait a minute dude, isn’t that Piper Nigrum growing all along that back wall as well?
Just as ‘exciting’ because I had no idea whether or not it was poisonous and if so, how deadly. Primarily due to that I separated its head from its body quite quickly. Did not have my trusty machete but only a chef’s knife so the work was still a lot more ‘up close and personal’ than I would have preferred.
Plus there was an adult Lisu female of the feminine persuasion observing so the line between guts and nuts may have been crossed. To clarify, it was most certainly crossed.
Question re: vanilla orchids: As you may know, an acquaintance brought me one several months ago now; it has started to overreach the dowel it’s secured to…Time to transplant it? (It reminds me to be aspirational, daily, like someone I know.) Thanks in advance!

Peaceful view, great variety of planting – the fragrance must be marvelous: Piper nigrum: WooHoo!

I was ‘given’ this patch by the Lisu Hilltribe to introduce alternative cash crops for them to substitute for their poppy ‘flowers.’
I just recommended ganja to them. They said N.O. no!
Life is strange – no?

Already killed my first snake here. A Lisu witnessed and was duly impressed.

Vanilla – hmmm? Wherever on Earth did she get the idea?
Yes or pruning is probably an equally good option. Or do nothing at all – wait & observe is sometimes fun.
It is your plant – enjoy!
