They don’t just hate America, they hate Americans. They totally, really, seriously hate us. They don’t just look down on us, they aren’t just snobs: they hate us. They want us gone.
The first time this really became clear to me was during a discussion on L1 several years ago, before Trump entered the scene, I am pretty sure. One of the militant libertarians on that site stated that Americans who could not find jobs should move to China, where, he said, the jobs were. He wasn’t joking. At least several people came forward to defend him. I was the only one arguing against his position.
It is important to point out here, that the people on L1 who wanted to send millions of Americans into exile were and still are enthusiastic supporters of open borders. Most or all of them wrote under pseudonyms, but Claire Berlinski defended the “send them to China!” position in her own name.
When it comes to open borders, destroying economic opportunities for low income Americans is a feature not a bug. American citizenship means less than nothing to these people. Americans mean less than nothing to them.
L1 has always been, in my opinion, controlled opposition. It is not a reflection of what most conservative Americans are like, but it definitely is a reflection of what the ruling class is like. When someone tells you who they are, believe them.
The coastal elites are too busy pumping the wealth of America’s fly-over people to hate them. Every American who is not a coastal elite or deep state operative should be clamoring for a peaceful separation from our Ruling Class.

I wish you were right about them being too busy to hate us, but I think you are wrong. Unfortunately, you are also wrong about peaceful separation: I wish that were possible, but the ruling class will not go peacefully. They hate us. They don’t just want to defeat us, they want to eliminate us because as long as we exist, there is hope for America.

Dear Judy
Hello from the UK. Many thanks for your post. There is great hope for the USA, indeed the rest of the world in Jesus Christ. That is why He is fighting along with the heavenly Father and all the angels seen and unseen. I include yourself of course.
The USA is undergoing a civil war right now, but primarily a war of words, not guns etc. It follows a timeline similar to the ACW, but 160 years ago, i.e. 1862. I write about this here should you or anyone be interested.
N.B. The world in general follows a WW2 timeline, only 80 years ago.

Please excuse the nom-de-plume, this is as much for fun as a riddle for people to solve if they wish.

Nice shout out to Claire. Didn’t she write L1’s Code of Conduct or something just as meaningless?

LOL π I take it that she wanted something from you? I do not like her at all, but maybe my judgement is clouded by the fact that she wanted all Americans who earn less than 6 figures to move to China.

Probably. For all of her hostility towards poor people, she doesn’t seem capable of making a living herself. She is always “crowdsourcing” and hitting people up for money.

She sold a couple of books?

I doubt it. I bet anything she gets most of her money crowdsourcing books that haven’t even been written. That, and her parents. But it’s ok, because she went to Oxford and she is so much smarter than we are.

Oxford? Really?

Yes, really. She went to either Oxford or Cambridge, and I am 99% sure it was Oxford. She is beyond Ivy League: she is in her dimension when it comes to academic credentials, which explains why she is so dumb.

No wonder she hates the working poor.

As an Englishman, I consider that many of the Oxford and Cambridge graduates in recent years are as dumb as a box of rocks. Too narrow minded, and elitist nincompoops.
Probably not always the case but these institutions went left-wing and dumbed down due to Marxist/communist infiltration.

Thank you, alphaandomega21, and welcome! π All of the elite institutions in the Western World seem to be producing-or recruiting-idiots. It’s almost like they are doing it on purpose π¦

On purpose, yes, I think that is truer than you may realise. It is, I consider, to wake people up to the fact that what we see today has been going on for a long time.
You will know of the hot water frog scenario I am sure. We think we arrived suddenly at the madness of 2020, but really we didn’t.
Still, things went truly bananas then. I consider that the restrainer was removed from the cage the devils were in, who got out and now cause mayhem,
Now we are awake and others wake up the situation can and willbe remedied but willtake time.
But as is written, put on the full armour of God, pray and give thanks always in very situation, and then stand firm.
If God is for us (He is) who can be against us? (Of course it could be the W.H.O.!!)

Nothing to do with your OP but here is an indication of the downfall of American journalism.
I still do not know what ESG is. The only reason I looked at the article was to learn what is ESG.

I was wondering the same thing! I browsed over the first part of the article, hoping that they would explain what ESG was, but they didn’t, so I got bored and stopped reading.

Is it ever k to ask your house cleaner to give you a shave?
LikeLiked by 1 person
I don’t know. π
Funny story, though: one of my cousins has worked for decades as a nurse at the VA. One time, both of us were visiting our uncle, and she was giving him a shave. I didn’t think much of it, until she started joking around and she said that if she had a dollar for every man she had shaved, she would be rich.
I have never shaved a man in my life, not even my husband, and I have never been a nurse. I was confused by her statement. “Why are you shaving all these men, Karen?” I asked her. I just didn’t make the connection between nursing and shaving men, until she spelled it out for me. We all had a good laugh π

yep but a nurse’s shave is not same-same a sweetheart’s shave.

P.S. House cleaner is neither nurse nor sweetheart.

I don’t know. You know many things, I thought maybe you would know this too. You said that you would do well at Cambridge, but you said nothing about Oxford, so I thought maybe you knew more about those two places than I do.

I suspect I would have done well at either place with the ladies. Academically would have been a close run thing for some reason.
