Even 30 years ago, it mayâve been one faith community among many – that gave rise to Zuhdi Jasser, MD (and a vascular surgeon colleague of mine), among some, whoâre still trying to keep that way of being Muslim above water; now, not so much. Taylor Marshall and Tom Holland (Thank you) convinced me that Christian heresy about Jesusâ divinity, as well as the religious climate in the Fertile Crescent – not the emptiness of the Arabian desert – had much to do with its ideas. It did not spring fully-formed from the mind of Muhammad (if he existed).
As well, Robert Reilly thoroughly depressed me with his chronicle of how Averroes and Avicenna could not stand against the passive-aggressive, murderous fatalism of al-Ghazali thatâs in the ascendancy today. (Not to mention the âParis-Peace-accordâ-like talks with the Taliban going on right now…Disgusting!) We donât want to win *wars* anymore, let alone win the peace. I donât need to change your mind, ST, because you changed mine some time ago…I still pray for Dr. Jasser and those heâs inspired, because they need it.
Iâve written so much about this,, youâre probably sick of my refrain! But here goes: Islam is a syncretistic creed appropriating huge chunks from Judaism and Christianity. The Koran reads like someone had a dream about the Old and New Testaments, which by all accounts, is exactly what happened. (Of course, in religion, we call this a ânew revelationâ..) But it has from the beginning ONE thieme the older creeds didnât: conversion by military conquest. Mohamed was a general, in the 10 years between his revelation and his death he led 15 military campaigns. âReligion of peaceâ?it is to LAUGH…..ST,I donât know about Satan, but it is a very human evil.
Humans have to choose to follow the ‘demonically evil’, don’t they? Besides, it’s a cobbled-together human invention, with no divine participation/ratification that I know of – winning by attrition/annihilation, isn’t it? Or so it seems…
More than 50% of their followers are chattel. I do not believe they are winning. Perhaps I came along too soon, but if at sometime in our glorious nation’s future the going gets too rough another GEN Patton/ “Chesty” Puller type will be allowed to do his job.
We have not felt enough pain yet for our Ruling Class to allow someone from the Country Class to arise and make the pain to pleasure scale intolerable to the mohammedans. The Israelis may be forced to do that job, at which Americans are uniquely capable, for us. Meantime we should be doing a much better job of ‘Winning the Peace.”
I agree that they aren’t *winning*, not in any real sense, but the video of kidnapped schoolgirls/murdered schoolboys, burning/desecrated churches does give one pause. I don’t think either “Old Blood and Guts” or “Chesty” would be welcome in today’s military. The Long Gray Line and the “Old Corps” that shaped and inspired them are both changing a lot today…Where are their heirs – besides you and Andy Milburn, that is? Can we make them at all, anymore?
Amen, to a commitment to “Winning the Peace”! (Col. McNamara, of All Marine Radio, is the only person I’ve ever heard speak those words, in that order , besides you. Not in an operational sense, as you have, but in terms of being “in it to win it”. That’s what got me thinking about how (sorta) small the Corps seems, sometimes, incidentally.)
Col. Mac said it (âWPâ) months ago, youâve been writing about it longer than that; it was developed as an operational plan while you were active, right?
Somewhere else, it was titled, âIn hoc signo vincesâ…A good start, but folks other than you got stuck on funding, etc. Maybe Iâll go at it again…âRethinkingâ should have company, yes?
Since it originally posted around Easter, you actually suggested that title…The focus was development of a resident advisorsâ course on college campuses that references Lewisâs âTaoâ, a riff on the âGreat Booksâ curriculum, with a dash of Daniel Hannan, for good measure. Anyway, it might be fun to revisit that…
I am generally high these days when I post/ comment these days so really can barely remember the content of my previous comment much less something that I may have written months ago.
I do however remember the shape of the woman/ girl that I slept with last night. Just thought you might want to know.
Glad to hear it! Iâm certain she reciprocates…Youâre a memorable fella, donâtcha know?Anyway, Iâm grateful for the suggestion/motivation to have written that piece – and will enjoy bringing it here, if it stands up….Weâll see.
P.S. The good news is that my drinking is down to next to nothing. Use of tobacco, to include vaping, is now even less than that. I was up to ~2 pax a day for while there. Thanks be to God for big bros!
In reference to Winning the Peace as an operational plan, not to my knowledge. That was all my original thought on the concept that you saw on Ricochet; however, I did brief my CG on a version of it just before I retired. He (the General) liked it but it was never operationalized.
My fault, I used the word operational too loosely…If your CG reacted positively, what would it have taken to have it go live (sign-offs and such)? Interested in the process…
It would have meant that I would have had to have de-retired amongst a whole host of other issues.
I had already ‘dropped’ my retirement papers and we both acknowledged that that minor fact made operationalizing WP almost impossible.
Meeting with Nechama tomorrow, so itâs probably âlights outâ…Muchisimas gracias, as ever, amigo mio. Buenas noches y buenos dias…Entonces/Chao for now!
The “name-dropped” (NC) asked that I convey: “Our friend actually crossed my mind this morning; please tell him he’s in our thoughts.” There you go, ST!
“Besides, itâs a cobbled-together human invention, with no divine participation/ratification that I know of â winning by attrition/annihilation, isnât it?”
Another way to think of this is that both Christianity and Islam define the ideal/ perfect man and the ideal way to live one’s life. If this is the case than the mohammedans idea of the perfect role model is simply evil to the core. On the other hand, if nothing else one must admit that Jesus Christ was at a minimum a man of peace and not a warlord.
This perspective also explains so much about both past and present differences between Western Civilizations and that of the barbarians of the Middle East.
Before you make such assumptions, I think it’s best to take an insight into Islam. Don’t judge Islam based on Muslims who’ve been giving the wrong impression of Islam.
Then I don’t think you’re getting the right insight.
Honestly, according to our prophet(SAW) we’re not allowed to wage war or be rude in anyway to humans even if they’re non Muslims. Our prophet was the most tolerant of people. Google about prophet Mohammed SAW about what happened when he was in taif. Our way of spreading the gospel is actually by being the best of behaviours and talking to people kindly. Islam is all about peace.
There are some interesting time limits in this article but I donât know if I see all of them heart to heart. There may be some validity but I will take hold opinion till I look into it further. Good article , thanks and we would like more! Added to FeedBurner as effectively

How about merely ‘demoniacally’ evil?

What if it’s a socio-political ideology that has religious elements in its bag of tricks?

Then it is arguably one of the most evil and longest enduring satanic socio-political ideologies ever.
Is it an demonic ideology or merely an evil political system?
