  1. Thoughts on Emmanuel’s “Bella Senora” [PC keyboard is set for US, Dvorak, left-hand; doesn’t have access to Spanish characters.]

This song is the plea X demand of one lonely and amped up young man – who can’t seem to get his story straight. First, he describes the “lovely lady” of the title as radiant with energy (like a starry night) and walking the line between delectably soft and devastatingly hard (maybe she likes to play rough?). He wants her to invite him in, to take him to her room. He asks to know all about her: Her life, her hopes and dreams – and her former lovers(!) He says he’s on fire with desire for her; but then, he wonders whether she’s as lovely to herself as he thinks she is; he imagines she might not look in the mirror first thing in the morning, because it reminds her of how much more beautiful she once was (“skin no longer as smooth as porcelain”) Does he want to be snuggled, or slapped? Or both? We’ll never know, because he returns to admiring her from afar. Pobrecito!

This was fun, ST….Did you want to make me laugh and blush simultaneously? If so, you succeeded. 😀
