…anyone, Bueller?

Began reading Wikipedia’s post titled East Timor genocide but was stopped in my tracks by the very first sentence: “…during the US-backed Indonesian invasion and occupation of East Timor.”

That is a bold lede.

I am doubting that whoever (whomever?) wrote that sentence could make me a believer but I would like to hear his argument.
