God Answers Prayers

If the Bible could be condensed into one simple message, I think it would be this: God will forgive our sins, if we forgive those who sin against us. Jesus makes it clear that our ability to be forgiven is contingent on our willingness to forgive other people.

I have been praying for decades for the grace to forgive other people, and for the most part, until very recently, I felt like I was making very slow progress, or maybe no progress at all. A month or so ago, I even spoke to a priest about this, but I felt like he was a little bit dismissive, although in an ice way. He assured me that the bitterness and anger I felt were not sins, because they were in his opinion, only feelings. He meant well, but I was not reassured.

Shortly after that conversation, I was watching Pastor Mark Driscoll on you tube, and he was speaking about the crucial importance of forgiving other people. He recommended a book-“Total Forgiveness” by RT Kendall. I ordered the book, and it arrived in the mail today. I am not finished reading it yet. I will report back when I have read the whole book.

For now, I just want to say: I have been praying about this for many years. God’s timing isn’t our timing, but He is here, and He is listening. Thank you, Lord.
