Greetings to the Netizens of ST’s Unwoked & Unvaxxed!
In our prior exploration of the story of ST, we met him and several of his international colleagues in the atmosphere of some well-earned recreation after a series of annual/semi-annual, coordinated drug-interdiction exercises [“Exercise Fuerzas Unidas-Contradrogas Riberena”] with partner nations all up and down the “spine” of the Andean Ridge (Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela).
This time, we’re invited into the working world of ST and his handpicked band of Marines, special operators, “squids” (Navy guys) and “Coasties” (Coast Guardsmen) as they move through the rivers that are the circulatory system of the Andean Ridge.
Their mission involved heading off (interdicting) transport of cocaine, weapons, and other contraband before they reached our shores. This video clip (~13 min., but worth it.) from a Vietnam-era documentary gives us a taste of what a typical workday was like for our favorite IMOM (International Man of Mystery) and his merry men.
ST informs me that his superior once reacted to a particularly successful mission with words to the effect of: “Great initiative; piss-poor judgment.”
Let freedom reign – especially if it brings out comments like that one.
