A friend has purchased two condos in the same building for him and his (current) GF. He is getting a bit long in the tooth and says that he can no longer live with a woman. She visits his place and he visits hers – not to be pornographic or anything but, yes even overnight stays. They seem to have a decent enough relationship.
I fear that having lived alone for so long that I may be incompatible for more than 24 hours or so with people of the feminine as well as sexy persuasion.
Then again, some women do still know how to make turkey sammiches. Hmmm, what is one to do?
Actually, one of my cousins has been in a monogamous relationship with the same man for, I don’t know, 15 or 20 years now, and they have never lived together and never plan to. Say what you will, but they have lasted a lot longer than some marriages do đŸ™‚
But if you find a woman who makes sandwiches for you, move in with her. The sandwiches will be worth it đŸ™‚

It seems like this is more common than one might’ve thought. My parents – most particularly my Dad – separated when I was in my late 20. He’d determined that he couldn’t share living-space anymore. Moved several hours away before retiring. After retirement, he built on family land up this way – with help from my Mom. He settled in; she came up here – and was invited to be his guest. I arrived about a year later – and Mom agreed to live with me, just over a mile away. Dinner invitations, sightseeing for Fall color, monthly shopping for pantry items, holiday and birthday meals, cookouts were initiated and enjoyed….in the last year and a half for both of them, Mom often tended to Dad, because he’d asked. Legal status meant nothing. The heart has its reasons. Interesting food for thought, ST.
