As to Hyp’s most recent post “…and say to all the world, this was a man.”
Being witness to this, folks, is the best remedy for grief. It was replaced by awe.

Only catchers are real men. Seriously, I read it on the internet.

Haven’t you learned the lesson yet about DJ? You bow before him or I get irritable … as you well know. 🙂

I stand corrected, your Royalness. In the modern era, due to their wearing of more armor than a tank, catchers are no more real men than are former Yankee shortstops.
Can I still get the lash – please?

Don’t you mean “ableist’, ST? (It just showed up in my predictive typing mode – weird!) Anyway, watching that clip made my day!

I usually just go to a topless bar. To each his own I suppose. In other words, maybe what is good for the gander is not even interesting to the goose?

Simon, you’re impossible! No respect for the greatest shortstop to ever play the game?

No ma’m, I have all of the respect in the world for Ozzie Smith. We loved him on our Cardinals!

Smith is definitely on my top 8 list, but the whole point of this post to begin with was to respond to Hyp’s post about male-female friendship that led to how often men can comfort without saccharine cliches and just bring a girl to see Derek Jeter play. 🙂

Watching professional baseball is a unique gift that God has bestowed only upon Americans. If the girls want to watch and admire the dainty play of shortstops instead of the real men on the hot-corner and behind the plate, who am I to correct them from the error of their ways?

(Don’t forget the Japanese.)
DJ flew into the stands more than once to catch a foul ball resulting in numerous stitches. I imagine that beautiful face looks like a minefield now!

Speaking of the Japanese love for baseball, did you know the shortest book in the world is the one that lists all Japanese inventions?

I wouldn’t be surprised because the Japanese are renown for examining a product and making it more functional. I’ve never considered them entrepreneurs or innovators but they serve a purpose in this world.
Being from the Motor City, I witnessed how they took our technology and made it better and more cost efficient.

That they do. They are now and were valuable allies during the Cold War.
