Uh-oh…is McConnell caving in? Extended the time for opening statements…well, for both sides, but why? CTFO, 2 days is plenty. But…witnesses? Is he really considering allowing people not called in thenSchiff show? Oh Mitch….
But: this is the GOP. They complained loudly about procedure in the House, when the6 weren’t in control, couldn’t DO anything about it. And that’s the way they like it! Now, the matter is before the Senate, which WE WON. But after all the tough talk, well, now, now and there, there, we don’t REALLY wanna force anybody to do anything they don’t like. Parp parp parp.
Think of the Kavanaugh “ hearing”. The GOP would up with such a strong, completely tight case, not through its efforts, of course, but because of, y’know, the facts—that even they couldn’t snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Remember Collins, standing there forced to admit that this wasn’t a case of “he said, she said.” This was a case of “she said” , AND she said she had witnesses, AND those witnesses she named flatly contradicted her testimony! Please, Collins seemed to be begging, don’t hate me because the accuser is, blatantly, either delusional or a liar! I’m sorry about that!
It looked, for one brief shining moment, like the GOP had located its balls. Oh but wait….nah, it was actually just rooting in its front pants pocket to find a nice, clean, white hanky to wave at the Dems.
The GOP does not deserve Trump, isn’t worthy of him.
God save the Don.
The GOP created Trump; there never would have been an opening for him if the GOP had been any good.

I’m hoping he is gathering all the evidence he can to bust the Dems for good because if he doesn’t, he’s got to know his political career is over. Senators have plenty of pollsters as well and he must be aware he will lose the party’s base permanently if he screws this one up. Here’s hoping the survival sense outweighs the ego to losing to a competent outsider.

Hoping like mad, ET! Btw this post is in response to your suggestion that we occasionally write with a bit more political gravitas…

This is another reason that I have moved overseas. Watching the GOP allow the Democrats to ride roughshod over them year after year became more than I could take. I can ignore most of this now.
In hindsight, we can now see the GOP does not want to be in power because that is when they get exposed as the fraudsters they truly are. I am 100% positive they are secretly hoping President Trump loses this year’s election.

If the GOP establishment thinks they can return to the way things were before Trump, and they probably do, they are dreaming. Trump has changed the political landscape forever, and Thank God for that.

Can we do anything here with this site for our team? Maybe a monthly ‘letter to the editor” of some high visibility publication? Is that doable? A bridge too far?
