Why I Enjoy This Site

After some recent interaction with the faithful JaC, Nanda, ST and Hypatia, I felt compelled to analyze and compare legacy sites #1 and #2. Even my husband who makes a concerted effort to avoid these Internet confrontations agreed with me.

  1. L1 site is too ‘woke’ and bans people for political beliefs although I will say this- they don’t usually tolerate disrespectful behavior among members.
  2. L2 site allows all points de vue to be heard (good thing) but the founders allow unhinged and downright insulting remarks to be made that are often off-topic against women. Lord knows I never thought I’d be saying this but: that site is sexist.

So, this leaves us with ST Unleashed who is the most macho of all men on the Internet and attracts intelligent, accomplished women who feel comfortable stating points de vue but do so in a civilized and courteous manner.

Simon, what is your secret? I am very grateful for the outlet you have provided for us all.

    Not quite true, Liz…As far back as 2015. they let someone jump down my throat, and get 22 “likes” for doing so, even though I’d flagged the comment as “ad hominem”. The then-editor on duty saw “no violation of the CoC”…Go figure. The beginning of my questions re: L1…I’m equally glad to have been invited here!

  3. Agree; perhaps there is no true comparison between worse and the worst! 🙂

    But this doesn’t matter because ST has provided a place for free speech. I tease him constantly about his irreverent commentary but that’s only due to my family background.

    If we didn’t like you, you were not invited to the dinner table and if you were, we teased you mercilessly. I once had to tell the family to back off my best friend who didn’t get our modus operandi. She soon got over that when my father (a fairly influential Michigan alum) wrote her a stellar recommendation for college at his alma mater. She finally realized she was considered a member of the family.

    We were always polite to people we didn’t like. 🙂

    The founders banned me for life for saying that I knew the cause of a commercial airline crash. Later they shift the reason to porn, then accused me of presenting novel plans for human trafficking all the while taking the virginity from ‘the youth.’ I suppose by youth Ms. Haakon Dahl meant teenagers, both male and female. Yes but I was the one who was the disruptor.

    That site is mainly nothing more than a bunch of incels doing group hugs and onanism. For safety, security and defense of their site, they gang up on girls.

      They do indeed and one wonders why so many of them are married! Who would marry these losers?
