Hope Springs Eternal

I just saw this on Powerline but for some reason I cannot copy & past that link.

To date, Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by SARS-CoV-2, has established significant community spread in cities and regions only along a narrow east-west distribution roughly along the 30-50 N” corridor at consistently similar weather patterns (5-11 degrees Celsius and 47-79% humidity).

“The paper includes a table of cities hard hit by the virus and the temperatures in those cities during the relevant time period. The authors say that in Bangkok, where the temperature has been much higher, the virus has not taken hold.”

from the source study at link below.

Here is the source for the Powerline article:

If these researchers are correct and the Flu Manchu is unable to continually migrate annually between the northern and southern (30-50 S”?) corridor we may all survive this ChiCom plot.

The study also would explain why both Italy and Iran in particular got hammered by the Wuhan pneumonia.

I understand that President Trump mentioned that this thing should slow down when the weather warms up where you are. Here is to hoping that seasonal climate change will kill this bug before it establishes a beachhead in the southern hemisphere.

P.S. Top of the morning to you, bonnie lass.

  1. I just read that there are now 134 definite cases in Massachusetts, which is actually fewer than I thought there would be: three days ago, there were 90 cases, this thing is moving more slowly than I would have expected, but then again, what do I know?

  2. I saw that too. If it at least abates this spring, we’ll have more time to develop a therapy—and it’s to be hoped the disease doesn’t come roaring back till after election day!

  3. If this is correct and it can somehow be kept from wintering in the southern hemisphere (perhaps already too late because – Brasil), this could be over by summer. I hope & pray.
