I think I touched the damn thing last night in the dark when I went to put the trash out. I feel okay so if I did apparently it did not bite me. Thank you Jesus!
I have gotten bitten by a spider and the bite became infected and nasty. Miss BKK applied honey to it and it eventually healed, leaving a cool little spidey scar in its wake.
Seems like, in the tropics, everything will kill you.
Nope. These are government issued (GI) steel toed boots. Not many Marines and fewer grunts get these because they can (theoretically) make certain types of landmines go boom. I wore these when conducting certain types of riverine ops when we were not expecting to do much foot patrolling. The steel toes help protect our precious little digits. You can see the leather that covers the steel is ripped and torn but good. These boots, beyond a shadow of a doubt, saved me from multiple broken toes/ bones.
Because of all the miles they have on them, they now fit like a glove and are remarkably comfy except in below freezing temps.

Is it venomous? I read almost all spiders are, it’s just a question of the dose.

By the look of it, I’d say yes. The locals have warned me of the spiders but I don’t yet know which ones are nasty and which ones are sino-nasty.

Thanks for the reply; good to have a reason to smile, and take needed baby-steps today! Getting a little further along with Lewis, just fyi.
