Some people with no common language, culture, history or ancient capital has a team playing in qualifying matches for the 2020 World Cup. I am boycotting the World Cup until Tibet and Kurdistan are also allowed to field teams.
I sense some anti-Semitism in this. Is Israel even allowed to compete?
In case you were wondering they play in Asia’s Group D with Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Palestine, Yemen, and Singapore. It is unlikely (thank you Jesus) they will advance but I am not happy about this, not happy at all.

I’m torn about my reaction to this post.
On one hand, I worry about the safety of Israeli athletes and will never forget the Munich massacre at the 1972 Olympics.
Of course, I’m fully cognizant that allowing this exclusion admits defeat and could possibly lead to worse. As ST would say, you have to decide to hold the hill.
In the end, I’m simply tired of Israeli deaths. Their soldiers are dear to me. They’re tough as nails, well trained and technologically advanced but because of their country’s size, don’t have our firepower.

Thanks for this comment, Liz. I remember in horror the Munich massacre myself and can relate to your feelings here in toto.
My disgust with FIFA (or whoever) is allowing Palestine (which has never been a country or people) to compete for the World Cup.
Tibet has been absorbed (for its water) by China but no way FIFA would even entertain a petition for Tibet to compete. What are the differences between Israel and China vis-a-vis Palestine and Tibet? Please name the (so-called) country that does not have its very own language, culture, or ancient capital?

Don’t even get me started Simon. World Cup aside, there are several countries who shouldn’t be permitted to participate in the UN which shouldn’t exist anyway.
But that’s another post…
