The number of phone numbers I collected on some of those nights tells me the colored girls also thought “mi ritmo es bueno gozar” as Santana tells us on Oye Como Va.
I worked for an African American woman once who called all of her white employees, including me, “cracker”. She also called us rednecks, but she always said it with such love, and she was such a great person to work for, that we didn’t mind. She used to say that I looked like a Redneck girl from the cornfields of Iowa. I miss her.
One woman actually did use that word on another one of the owners; I can’t remember if she was fired for it or if she used it in response to being fired; either is totally possible, so yeah, if any of us used that word we would have been immediately fired. Obviously.
Lol, you crack me up π

When I went to house parties and was the only white cat I used to dance like Michael but with a macho-twist, at least in my own mind.

I remember rushing home from junior high to watch the “Thriller” video on MTV the first time they aired it. God, I am old π

How have you avoided being brought down by a mob of angry women? π I take it they didn’t find out that you were “collecting” numbers, lol? π

Although, it does matter whether you were asking for numbers, or whether they were just giving them? π

Dude my gf would have killed me if I was going around soliciting phone numbers, maybe even before the brothers did.

They didn’t want their BFs to see them passing the notes to the cracker so nobody but me saw the deed.

That’s groovy and shit but what would have happened if you had called her the forbidden N word with just as much or even more love in your heart?

Still, she was really cool to work for.
