Mark Levin has Bob Woodson on his show as a guest right now; Mr Woodson has started something called the 1776 project to counter the 1619 project, and he is also talking about many of the things that his Woodson Center does. One thing he talked about really struck me: He said that in general, about 70% of kids raised in the inner city end up being dysfunctional. This means that 30% are ok, so his organization works with families who kids are doing ok to find out what they are doing right, to learn from them, so as to replicate their success.
Mr Woodson is a vocal supporter of marriage and fatherhood. It goes without saying that marriage and fatherhood must be supported, but the fact remains: some fatherless children end up basically ok, and lots don’t. It can’t hurt to try to figure out what some single mothers are doing right.
Based on what I have observed among single mothers I know whose kids turned out fine? They gave up everything for their kids. The kids observed this, and appreciated it, but the kids also knew that they didn’t want to live the way their mothers did, so they got married before having kids-something which their mothers very strongly encouraged.
There have always been single mothers and fatherless children; I don’t know anyone who believes in zero tolerance for unwed mothers. The religious conservatives I know and am aware of want to help single mothers in every way possible, but leftists attack us for saying that it is (far) better to wait until marriage for children. But it’s The Truth, and it’s just one part of The Truth which Bob Woodson preaches, Bless him.

Unfortunately, his website seems to be experiencing some glitches, maybe this is due to high traffic because of his appearance on television right now? Hoping the glitches clear up ๐
Lovely to see! And I came across an excellent introductory history book, that adults could learn from, too. Itโs called โLand of Hopeโ, by Wilfred M. McClary, written to respond to the โ1619ersโ, Howard Zinn, and even Jon Stewart….Weโre beginning to fight.

Yes, I think people felt blindsided at first, but the shock is wearing off and people are starting to fight, Thank goodness!

People through their decisions and actions either build the social fabric of society or they rip apart this social fabric. BLM in my opinion fits the latter category.
