Somebody obviously told Biden to either laugh or shake his head every time Trump speaks. At first, this seemed like a good idea to me. After watching for nearly an hour and a half, it is starting to grate on my nerves. Also, it is becoming very annoying when Biden responds to everything Trump says by saying “That’s not true.” Still, Biden is performing better than I thought he would.

The best moment so far, imo, was when Trump asked Biden to name a law enforcement agency that supports Biden/Harris, and Biden couldn’t 🙂

      1. I am watching on CNN and Wolf Blitzer is talking to me now, and I don’t think I can take much of his spin. Now Jake Tapper says it was not a debate but it was a disgrace and Pres. Trump lied. W.O.W. wow!

    1. FYI: Nobody makes the Don shut his mouth especially those low-info, uneducated members of the press. I won’t have somebody like Chris Wallace assume he is on the same level as the Don. He has no right or intellectual prowess to tell DJT a damned thing.

      1. I was being facetious but that was what Biden was trying to do. By bringing up his deceased son Bo he thought that would and should take Hunter off the table but Trump is a street fighter and don’t give much of a never-mind about decorum in the middle of a war to save a nation from the ruling elites.

        As I had predicted with this tongue in cheek comment, the talking heads on CNN were outraged that Trump brought up Hunter’s evil money-making schemes. Why it is just not done that way in proper society, doncha know?

    1. I think CNN has the lowest ratings of any news channel? I am going to see if I can get hard figures on that, but really. Most people know that CNN sucks.

      2. BBC won’t be any better, Simon, you know that. Nobody in America is watching BBC either, and nobody cares what the Brits think. Just turn off the television, put on some music, and know that God exists and goodness will prevail in the end.

      2. Google isn’t showing any hard numbers. That is probably because Trump is doing very well with Hispanics. I couldn’t get any actual polling results, but every single article from every news outlet agreed that Trump has increased his support among Hispanics since 2016, and Biden is doing worse with them than Hillary did. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/09/18/bidens-weakness-among-hispanics-is-not-his-fault-its-trumps/

    1. If I am remembering correctly, Trump did in fact condemn white supremacists and I am pretty sure that he told the Proud Boys to stand down. He also said that all or virtually all of the violence is coming from the left. I am pretty sure that virtually everything about the article you linked to is a total lie. They aren’t just twisting his words, they are making stuff up out of thin air.

  20. I’m really disappointed. Biden stayed upright, which is all he had to do. Trump missed 3 (at least) critical chances. He shoulda pointed out they he always has condemned white supremacy and he always has condemned violence. He shoulda said of course he will “commit to a peaceful transfer of power” but pointed out that Biden was the first to assemble a team of lawyers to gum up the results. He shoulda hammered Biden on his past racist remarks AND ACTIONS. No I do not think it went well. I mean shit, these points are the same ones the Dems tried to stick him with in 2016! By now, he has SO much ammo against them ,which he didn’t deploy with a very good aim. And I think it’s likely that there will not be another debate. I am totally bummed out.

    1. I don’t know, Hypatia. I would be inclined to agree with you on this, except for the telemundo poll. Apparently, 66% of those watching on Spanish Telemundo think Trump won the debate. That surprises me. Maybe Trump is playing on another level, as usual?

      I think there will be other debates. If there aren’t, the dems are being way overconfident.

  21. As I mentioned elsewhere, this was a three man debate. Chris Wallace spent more time showing off his commentating “prowess” than giving the candidates time to explain their policies. Two minutes to answer questions on serious and complex issues? This format is fraudulent and unhelpful to voters.

    Plus I wanted to hear the back and forth between the candidates even if they did exceed the time limit. I often learn more from a ‘free- for- all’ and nothing from self-aggrandized commentators.

      2. Juan Williams is kind of a token leftist, and he is obviously an opinion person, so I am ok with him. There has to be somebody around arguing for the other side, but Chris Wallace is presented as someone who is supposed to be objective-that is what bothers me.

  23. I think DJT had a fight plan and he stuck to it throughout the fight.

    He may have been showing the blue collar guys that these Ruling Class thugs are paper tigers. Who knows other than The Donald?

    As Hypatia has previously noted, President Trump left a lot money on the table that should have been easy pickings.

    My guess is his fight plan got the best of our hero and Commander in Chief.
