Keeping it classy, I see.
May I recommend if you feel compelled to attack a lady do not call her a slag? The polite and properly cultured thing to do would have been to refer to her as an escort.
P.S. Escort services keep the engines of commerce running smoothly and efficiently on a global level. Ask me how I know.
I cannot believe that so few are objecting to what that guy did. They obviously don’t like girls over there.

OMG gf, you saw it too! That guy may become a lawyer, but he will never be a gentleman.

As I’ve told Liz, I can’t understand the hostility to her. They’re lucky to have her posting there. I think they’re threatened by her self-confidence and success.

Liz is both incredibly smart and incredibly kind. They cannot relate on either front.

“…her self-confidence and success.”
Your guess is as good as any. I try to learn from self-confident and successful peeps of both races. They treat her like a punching-bag. S.A.D. sad

The very least R could have done is accuse me of “escorting” investment bankers or traders on Wall Street.
Jeez… 🙂

Speaking of escorts, it was (past tense, sadly) a blast getting for free what everybody else had to pay out of the nose for.
It is a blessing and a curse, amigos mios.

Late to the party, Liz, but I’m sorry the lizard-brained, bubble-dwellers have struck again. And very glad you’ve found a place to express your unique point de vue here. Hurrah and Huzzah, ma belle amie!

Thanks very much Nanda. The thing is I’ve never thought of my point of view as particularly unique. I’m a product of a “June and Ward Cleaver” type family from the Midwest that embraces the Puritan work ethic. How radical!

Starting at my comment 19 on this thread, there is some discussion of this issue. But the only men participating are two ET partisans. I wanted to get involved to support her, without giving anyone ammo to dismiss us both as “Feminazis”. They must know, from our commentary and posts, that we are not: we both have made it abundantly clear that we love and admire masculinity and we are both long and happily married. Except from that Damocles bozo, I hav never been singled out for persecution, as Liz has been. He finally Put up a post explicitly aimed at me, loaded with obscenities, but I didn’t take the bait, so he went on getting more and more scatological until he got suspended (and hasn’t been back, yay!) It was glorious.
Judy was subjected to obloquy but in her case, we knew why: because of her championing of you, Simon. In Liz’ case there seems to be gratuitous hostility. Why? I can’t imagine. As I wrote before, I know they call me “High Patootie”,in the RAMU phone conferences. And there is one guy who is dismissive of me in a tone I don’t think he’d take with the men. But fuck ‘im! Liz, don’t abandon the Mischief! And as I wrote there, I’m grateful for the forum just as I am to ST for this one. We gotta punch back.

“We gotta punch back.”
99% of the time but one needs to know when to walk away from that 1%.
To be frank, I don’t see much upside to Liz’s participation there at the moment. Perhaps under new management but for the time being it looks like chaos to this reporter.

It is of course up to her! Liz knows how we feel.

Thank you all for your kind support but Simon is right. It’s time to walk away and I knew it a long time ago when I tried to participate in a RAMU conversation and you would have thought I’d tried to crash a fraternity meeting. Members Only!
The irony is that these are the types of men who add fuel to the fire of the #metoo fracas, the very women they profess to despise. If all men acted like this, I’d be the first to sign up for NOW.
Finally, I think these guys are victims of extreme parochialism and haven’t left their own backyards yet.
Again, glad to be here and as I mentioned before to Simon, I refer to this site as my Xanax. 🙂

Yay, Liz! (Btw, what’s a “RAMU”?) The AMU was CuriousJohn’s – and yours truly’s – and stringently “not an R> production”; we even had to run a disclaimer to that effect: “humpf-harrumph”…. 🙂 Not an original thought among ’em. May they continue to circle the drain….Amen.

Ratburger’s version of AMU.

Ah, they need to call it something else; not an original thought in their reptilian brains. S.A.D.
