I love watching Lou Dobbs and as a conservative I enjoy his guest interviews and commentary. But after listening to his nightly monologue tonight, I’m pissed off as hell because as usual, nobody takes responsibility for their own actions.
Examples:
- The Swamp. I don’t blame politicians from either party for their poor decisions because We the People aren’t paying attention to what our elected officials are doing in office. Remember folks, we put them in office and failed to follow up on their actions.
- Lou was on a rampage tonight about Silicon Valley that has apparently contributed over 5 million dollars to the Biden campaign while censoring conservative commentary on FB and Google. Ask me if I care! I don’t look to those companies for anything but making the donuts. I KNOW WHO TO VOTE FOR AND I DON’T LOOK TO THESE MOGULS FOR POLITICAL ADVICE.
We the People have other options for news and opinion writing. I know who to vote for without Mark Zuckerberg’s advice but I like him because I use him to make money. Who really wins in this scenario?
Moi; the truest fiscal conservative on the planet because financial acumen is power.
Silicon Valley does what it does because of a legal loophole that will probably be closed very soon. They are totally free to give money to whomever they would like, but if they want to editorialize then they should face the same consequences and repercussions that news agencies face. That, and the way that they align themselves with China, does concern me. Silicon Valley is not on America’s side, and that has to be acknowledged. Considering the legal protections they enjoy at the moment, the term “crony capitalism” comes to mind.
Having said that, I have relatives who own stock in Google, and Robin made his living by giving customers high rankings in Google-he didn’t like Google, but they were and still are the only game in town. We all have to make a living, and one way or another, right now, we are all making a living off of Google. But let’s not fool ourselves: Silicon Valley is selling America down the river. The fact that they are very smart and very successful doesn’t make up for the fact that they are traitors.

I am more afraid of the geeks in Silicon Valley than I am of the ruling class. The geeks have more power. I fear that our entire society is turning into “Revenge of the Nerds” writ large π

You may well be right. I think I am not all that plugged into the internet, believe it or not, to appreciate their impact.
And yet another reason to hate on me.

All of Wall Street supports the Democratic party so I don’t know what to think except this: The good they do outweighs the bad.
I love Jim Kramer’s show Mad Money because it emphasizes how the market has helped the middle class to participate in the process of growing wealth and helps close the gap between the various economic classes.
Nobody talks about one of my family friends who bought Apple stock decades ago at $1.50 a share and died a multi-millionaire.
These are stories people need to hear; I grow weary of the demonization of big business because in the end, they’ll protect America in order to protect their backsides. π
This is why capitalism is the greatest system on Earth because it ultimately serves as an effective stop-gap.
Good comment JC and don’t think I don’t empathize with your concerns.

Congrats, dude.
Yes, only capitalism ensures some level of liberties are maintained. Problem is (drum roll) ‘certification’ by the State. Slippery road meet tyranny’s best friends, Mr. & Mrs. Corrupt Politicians and their Deep State.
