I want to be at the Vienna Opera Ball on NYE even if tickets are 4 figures, I have to take lessons in waltzing and buy Audrey Hepburn long gloves. 🙂
Unfortunately, the grand affair is cancelled this year.
You’re thinking of Salzburg where the music festival is held in the spring, perhaps? Vienna is a winter wonderland especially during the holidays. The Christmas decorations are breathtaking.
Up here, we went to bed on Christmas Eve with snow covering everything, but a warm spell came through and when we woke up Christmas morning, the snow had completely vanished. It rained all day. Miserable, terrible, awful. 😦
Judy, yes that’s exactly what we got. And today it is soooo cold. I could not believe we had all that beautiful snow right up until Christmas Eve. Then rain, yuck. A brown Christmas.
It went down to 40 degrees last night and I almost had a stroke. I do not like dormant vegetation and wearing substantial clothing! (ST, leave that one alone.) 🙂
Just at present I wish I were there, too…
Happy New Year dear Simon!

I want to be at Doi Tung’s private open air dinner show with someone who thinks I am dreamy and rich.

I can understand Moscow in winter but Vienna seems like more of a springtime sort of place.

Thanks, ST, for the chance to look at something gorgeous instead of the snow outside my window. 🙂

Only time I want to see snow is when it is underneath my skis.

It is also nice to look at snow through a window in a cozy warm house while sipping hot cocoa 🙂
