I see this debate continues to rage in certain circles, but I thought we finally got our answer thanks to President Reagan. Ranger fans will obfuscate with talk of Special Ops and Tier 2 armchair general word puzzles. For those of you who are serious and not just super proud of your US Army ranger uncle, read the history of the ‘battle’ for the tiny island of Grenada.
Navy SEAL fan boys & girls will also be disappointed in their ‘golden boys.’

Sad to say, ST, the culture across the military is being impacted by civilian “concerns” about identity/equity/society, blah-blah-blah, and the general-staff doesn’t seem equipped to stand athwart it – even among “the few…the proud”. Grand individuals are recruited and trained but it’s becoming an “8-to-5” job, with texting instead of formations, barracks seen as the Marine’s “dorm/home” – to be *respected* – not *inspected*, etc., etc….Writing essays meted-out as a punishment.
Staff non-commissioned officers (SNCOs) are dialing back, because reporting infractions isn’t currently seen as being worth the ‘blowback’ to their own career goals/aspirations. Like I said great guys and gals caught in the shifting of the culture – the winds of change. Mac’s been lamenting this for the past few weeks; it’s making me ‘smad’ – sad and mad all at once…
