We here in Florida attract about 25-30% of our tourists from Canada particularly in certain pockets of the state. I would say my parents social group was easily composed of almost 40% tourists from Toronto and Quebec. Recently, the Canadian govt has permitted citizens to travel to America but they face a two week quarantine in a hotel upon returning home. On TV this afternoon, there was an infuriated mob in the capitol of Ottawa complaining about this and one very unhappy person was shouting “Why can’t we live in a country that allows us to do what we want to do?!!”
Good question. I only dread we’ll have to make up the financial drop-off with a state tax. OH NO…..
