Things that Frighten Me

Although I’ve made a valiant attempt to avoid the MSM (even Fox because they are so brutally honest), I haven’t been able to ignore the following:

  1. Atlanta. After the Georgia state legislature passed an ID requirement to vote, the MLB is moving the All-Star game to another location. Apparently, this requirement is a nefarious scheme to suppress black and brown voters instead of its original purpose to suppress cheating and oh, our Federal Chief Executive is publicly supporting this states only issue. I have to flash ID at least 1-2 times daily for everything I do- driving (if caught speeding), picking up a prescription or filling out forms to see a new physician, filing an IRS return, renewing my passport! In fact, what is truly “racist” is the woke assumption that ‘people of color’ are incapable of obtaining a form of ID such as a driver’s license. If this is true, they shouldn’t be voting anyway. Corporations based in Atlanta such as Coca-Cola are supporting this move but why are corporations so afraid? (Perhaps the new corporate tax rate that is brewing on the horizon could be targeted more heavily on companies who don’t support this policy?)
  2. Governor DeSantis just overturned the Florida state legislature’s ban on all citizens to use public businesses unless they can provide proof of vaccination as “unconstitutional.” Unfortunately, I feel as if I’m the only one in the state right now who agrees with him.
  3. The little things: For any of you in charge of the laundry at home, Oxy-clean and companies who used to manufacture spot removers have dropped this product to devote more production to hand sanitizers. Of course, I believe in the right of business to produce what they want, but why do I believe there was undue pressure to do this?

We are fast moving into a bona fide police state and I’m starting to sweat and my long time accountant has spent an enormous amount of time re-learning all the new tax laws and changing strategies for his clients.

I’d really appreciate any insights and suggestions as to how we can combat this. Unfortunately, I’m beginning to lose confidence in the voting process particularly after reading this headline- Biden: “We value work over wealth.”

Say what?

Our so-called public servants would neither use tax policy against the rich nor for a power play as needed. That is because they are public servants by nature and not businessmen. Duh.

    1. You just made my argument precisely. Public servants are certainly not businessmen so this is why they make financially stupid decisions and believe money grows on trees.

      1. Oh yes and I was being sarcastic. They are neither businessmen nor public servants. They are power-hungry, greedy egomaniacs with the exception of Louis Buller Gohmert Jr. of Texas and maybe not even him. After Paul Ryan, I have no faith.

No, you’re not, ST….You’re in agreement with the writer of the Letter to the Hebrews when he says: For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.” [Chapter 13, verse 14, King James Version)

Blessed Easter, btw. Christ is risen!

He got most of it; and look where it got him – and us. “Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.” [Psalm 146, verse 3 – “son of man” = mortal being, here, not Christ as “Son of Man”]

      4. JC didn’t fare much better. Those who fight against corruption sometimes lose but that is no reason to give up the fight.

      5. Absolutely so, a bit of a change in focus for balance can be useful. Even the Founders knew the Source of human autonomy, freedom, and interdependence, oui?

The idea of an nCOVID-19 passport frightens me. We are giving up our freedom for security. Soon they will add vaccines for rabies, TB, polio, etc., for interstate travel in the family station wagon. The only medical histories we don’t care nothin’ ’bout are those of millions of illegals. Nothing to see here. Hey, ma’am, where is your foxtrotting mask!

  3. I have been saying for the longest time that the serious push back has to start at and with our university students. I realize they have no appetite for non-wokism at this time.

    1. Yup, ST, prime time for the “Winning the Peace” Corps on campuses – whether welcome or unwelcome; convenient or inconvenient, to borrow from St. Paul.

  4. Biden: “We value woke – and hate the acquisition of wealth – for everyone but ourselves.” Is that more like it, Liz? (It’s gonna be a long two years – let alone four.)

It’s even worse, Nanda. They don’t understand how wealth is created. They believe in a zero sum game.

Perhaps they do know how wealth is created, but they’re greedy sons-of-somethings who’ll use anything/anyone who can advance their self-interest, aren’t they?

      1. But this is why they’re ignorant. They don’t win if the American public does not. They won’t have a country to support their lavish lifestyles. Joe Biden never made a dime in his life which is precisely why he encouraged his son to work with the Russian mafia.

      2. Liz, They’ll do well when the citizenry does not, because they’ve become quadrupeds, on all fours, to the oligarchs, of whatever stripe….Disgraceful!

      3. I wholeheartedly believe this about the Bidens because there is clear evidence of malfeasance; as for the others I admittedly can’t say. 😦

      4. The Bidens, Obamas, Clintons, were on my mind as I wrote, Liz; it surely could go back further, on both sides of the aisle, I’m thinking….It’s unredeemed human nature doing what it does best. 🙂

You are definitely not the only one in Florida who agrees with Governor DeSantis. Lots of people everywhere are extremely opposed to “vaccine passports.” I wonder if maybe you might actually feel better if you watched Fox from time to time? Less alone, maybe? It is never a good idea to try to gage things based only on the people we know.

      1. Also, the whole idea of vaccine passports will create huge backlash. Before they started talking like this, I was on the fence about getting the vaccine, but probably would have. Now? Eff them. I will refuse to get it out of sheer spite. I don’t like it when people try to coerce me, and I am far from alone in that respect.

  7. JaC, FNC looks and sounds to me as if it might’ve taken a sip or several of the corporate media Kool-Aid; I’m enjoying NTD.com and The Epoch Times, myself.
