The Blame Game

I really don’t blame a cognitively challenged, unintelligent president for the state of affairs both domestically and internationally.

Here’s the list of those who are truly responsible for the possible end of America as we have known her:

  1. The voters. Remember we’re a democracy; as the Founders emphasized, the future of our country remains in the hands of her citizens. We continue to elect individuals who wish to destroy us. Let us take some personal responsibility, shall we?
  2. The impotency of the GOP. I despise Mitch McConnell.
  3. NATO, who has left us to our own devices and then whines about an incompetent U.S. president.

Simon has often stated “Why did I risk my life for this?”

Valid question, sir.

  1. I have to correct you on #1. We are a constitutional republic as in, “I pledge allegiance to the flag and to the republic for which is stands.” Nowhere in the constitution does it say we’re a democracy. We have heard it so many time by people on the right, left, and in the middle, we begin to believe it.

    2. I agree with this.

    3. Nato would be used by Biden to bring down any opposition from the right.

  2. With all due respect to a hopefully new member, you are missing the point about American voters. They are remarkably ignorant of the issues. This is unacceptable.

    1. Nanda, you have to point a finger in order to identify the roots of the problem. You have done just that.

Now what do we do? Home school? Charters? How about parental involvement?

      1. All of the above, as appropriate for each locality, family, and child. (I seem to recall a recent occupant of the Oval Office – and his Secretary of Education – championing vouchers, to facilitate all three, I have to say.) We also need to get away from “teaching to the test”, and to de-fang teachers’ unions, etc.

      2. Out of pure curiosity, what comprises the test to which teachers are supposed to teach to these days?

Seriously, I really don’t understand; I was always in high school AP classes that focused students on preparing for college material- English lit, books on philosophy, history, science, seminars, essays, etc.

      3. State comprehensive achievement tests – in early elementary/jr. high/high school – not to mention SAT/ACT, etc. at college level/grad school entrance. It was maddening to family members who were teachers – and worse now, I’m told by younger family members who carry on the tradition.

  3. Used to, yes….I never recall doing an ACT prep, but a whole industry has sprung up around test-taking of entrance exams. As to the other testing, another vexatious thing is that state – and federal – funding for school districts is tied to performance on these standardized tests.

I don’t remember saying that but will endeavor to stop doing so immediately. Thanks for the heads-up Dude.

      1. I don’t think so; I totally understood where you were coming from. You sacrificed a lot while people who knew nuttin’ about nuttin’ made bad and dangerous decisions. Who wouldn’t be outraged?

Rest easy bro; nobody would ever question your patriotism, least of all the Ettes.

  5. We are a Republic, not a democracy. We elect people who are supposed to make decisions based on our needs. Problem, is, they have been afforded too much power and do not feel the need to listen anymore. Neither side.

    1. We once were a Republic. Now our elected officials are controlled by special interest groups who fund campaigns. See: George Soros who wasn’t even born here.

Technically you are correct but it isn’t working out that way. BLM, NOW, and the EPA (unelected people making law) control voting and legislation now. How do we define that?

Bribery/corruption/oligarchy? We have truly become a victim of mob rule.

  6. And while I’m on a rampage, why is it that I am not allowed to discuss politics with friends and even family? Yeah, you could certainly retort that I’m hanging with the wrong crowd but that does not justify the personal suspension of my First Amendment rights.

Mob rule does exist albeit in a gentrified form. Just because we vote does not make us a Republic.

  7. Liz, if we can believe anything we read, 5 million votes says you’re right about the voters.

We had it ALL,man! Energy independence! Record low unemployment! Secure borders! Peace breaking out in the effing Middle East! These are topics which have won bipartisan applause all our lives! But no, they were somehow bad, they HAD to be ,because Trump.
    Yeah. Phuque the voters!

  8. Thanks to Flu Manchu the Progz job of placing a Manchurian candidate in office was made easy. Democrat Party targeted a few party owned precints to steal in 4 or 5 States. Mission accomplished.
