He was the Cary Grant of music! One Halloween, my husband took me and two of my girlfriends out as Robert and the Palmer girls. I’m not sure we were quite that irresistible but we did have fun. 🙂
Awww, too right, Liz! (And Don Everly, on Friday/Saturday last, at 74.) Here’s a tribute, written by Paul McCartney, for the Everlys to perform, in 1984: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Fq2jQLpZGA
I’m pretty flexible as a devoted music lover so I like the new youngsters but even some of them are dying:
Kurt Cobain- a mess personally but I admired his music. Dead at age 27.
Scott Scapp from Creed- still alive, but heroin destroyed his career…
Oasis- unusual talent but disappeared. “All Around the World” was a truly great song/album.
Woke up and got turned on! Thanks Simon I love this!

P.S. ST, you’re really batting .1000 with your musical choices!

Liz, does your husband look like Robert Palmer? 😍

He does with a little Sam Shephard thrown in. 🙂
And he dresses like RP. This is why I fell ASAP.

Of course you’re ‘simply irresistible’, Your Graciously Unleashedness; Mr. Palmer’s no slouch, either. Love this!

I chose Simon’s musical site to announce this very sad news:
The Rolling Stones’ drummer since 1963 Charlie Watts died today of unknown causes at age 80. They were scheduled for a new tour of the U.S.
I don’t like this period of my life; too many leaving us. 😦

You’ll have to supply one for Charlie Watts 😦

Wow, it’s hard to say goodbye to rockabilly and rock ‘n’ roll, isn’t it?

Never fear (!) I’m still looking and listening …

A soul-stealing business, if one is not careful; my niece says that my music-player is full of ‘old dead people’, good thing the music doesn’t die. 🙂

Don’t listen to your niece! That generation doesn’t get the greatness of the British Invasion, Motown, R&B, punk and even disco. 🙂

Oh, I know! Her father and I have worked on her musical IQ since then. She’s come around. 🙂
