A Special “Service” Announcement

Did anyone read that one of the provisions the House is attempting to include in its monstrously expensive bill is the required draft of women? 134 Republicans are voting for it. We all know how well mixing the sexes turned out in the Navy years ago. Wonder if women will be able to train to be SEALS?

I guess the military’s prime purpose is to dabble in social experiments with national protection as a mere afterthought.

One conservative Congressman from Texas told Fox that if he voted for this, his wife swore to head a campaign to unseat him. Where are the rest of the wives and daughters of either party here?

  1. The Pentagon itself spent 36 million dollars to analyze the outcomes of mixed gender divisions and found that all male units were 70% more effective at achieving military objectives.

    Well, duh …

  2. The simple fact is that men have different physical and emotional characteristics that allow them to perform at a higher level. So what? I’m not offended that the Saint could kick my a** on the battlefield; I’m more interested in results and the defense of our nation.

This is not to say women cannot play an important role in the military; VP Dick Cheney awarded two Medals of Freedom to female paramedics who saved hundreds of lives and were not only respected, but requested by the wounded warriors they treated.

Front lines? No freaking way and I make no exceptions.

I’d be very interested to hear ST’s point de vue on this subject. After all, we have an expert at our disposal along with new poster TES. Gentlemen?

  3. Social experimentation has long been underway, this is icing on the cake. Support positions, yes, all day and night long; combat arms – Not on anyone’s life! The draft for women – in support positions only – goes with the ‘equality’ some have demanded forever, it seems to me. With less than 1% of us volunteering, most of us are far removed from the costs and rewards of serving. Bring back the draft for all.

      1. Draft women of from all genders and walks of life into these jobs beginning yesterday. Assign the most competent to front line ‘MASH’ units. Do it now.

  4. “Bring back the draft for all.”

Simon agrees with this but my concern after the disaster of Viet Nam is this: Why force people to take on the world’s most challenging endeavor if they don’t want to be there? This is exactly a Business 101 principle- people who don’t want to be in the job, perform poorly. And our success as a military power seems to be directly affiliated with those who make a conscious choice to sign up on their own volition.

  5. The Dems are beginning to remind me of an employee who knows he’s out of favor and is PRET-ty sure his days are numbered. He really has nothing much to lose by lying to the employer, goofing off, failing to do his job, stealing from the employer to the extent it’s likely to go unavenged, and —on the employer’s time—doing as much as possible to slander the employer and excuse himself.
The Dems know the people wanna fire them, but we hafta wait another year ad a month, so…in the meantime , anything goes. It’s a terrible interim.

    1. I pray their negligence and openly destructive policies do not incur lasting damage. I feel that at this point, it would be an impossible challenge for even Our Don to fix this mess.

I have severe issues with Benedict Arnolds and malheureusement, this includes former friends. 😦

  6. Also, let us not underestimate American culture in the 1940s plus the fact that we and Western Europe had been attacked. Both men and women felt compelled to contribute their fair share in my country.

    Viet Nam? Nyet.

There was support for Afghanistan after 9/11 and the maintenance of 2500 troops in the region to keep the Taliban under control. But we have lost all credibility and lack the ability to make analytic decisions that determine the all-important risk/reward factor.

  7. Hunter Biden got into the Navy by the force of political arm twisting. He foxtrotted that gift from God up so badly that in short order the US Navy had to quietly let him go.
