Pre-Game Warmup

As we all know, the awesome, the invincible Brady is facing the team that drafted him and helped him to develop his analytical skills and win 6 Super Bowls. I’ll admit it’s been an adjustment for me to see #12 and the Gronk in Tampa Bay jerseys. I’ve even read that many Patriot fans “love Tom, but will always support the Patriots franchise.”

But I read an interesting article in the WSJ this weekend about the Bucs and I must say I was delighted to learn something for a change. (For two powerful metropolitan newspapers- the Post and NYT, sports has always been an afterthought. Je ne comprends pas).

Quick summary:

The Glazer family owns the Bucs but they also own Manchester United!!! I know little about soccer but I read they just signed Cristiano Ronaldo at age 36. Man United manager commented “The way he looks after himself, that’s the key, that’s the key to it all. The players around him are going to be lifted to another stratosphere, another level.”

The Bucs feel the same about Brady. It’s quite exciting to see “aging” players winning rings and titles and throwing their weight around training camp. It’s called leadership and earned respect.

Wish my boys good luck tonight in Foxboro.

  1. Game just came on here in Thailand. Some “good piece of gear” just sang something I didn’t hear about NFL Monday Night Football because my TV is on mute until opening kick off.

    Peeps are sleeping.

  2. Welcome to the NFL rookie!

Pats rookie QB gets plastered by pro linebacker.

    Resulting in an interception.

    Patriots have gay cheerleaders now?

      1. Brady hit A. Jones in the hands in the end zone with 2 minutes. Tuff chance but he dropped that and made no play at all on the previous ball that dropped in the end zone right beside him.

  3. Halftime report: This game is all about Belichick. He is mixing up the looks every other play; messing with Brady. Unbelievable the Pats have kept them out of the end zone for the entire half.

I do wish it would stop raining.

  4. Glad this game is over! It was a little emotional seeing Tom Terrific in Foxboro wearing the wrong uniform. ):
One female Pats fan summed it up well: “I feel like my boyfriend just broke up with me.”

Hats off to rookie Mac Jones of the Pats. He showed enormous poise. Belichick displayed his usual genius on defense.

Do not remain a stranger. I love discussing the GOAT and you know as well as I do that “haters” hate winners.

I’m still licking my wounds over the loss to the Saints but we need to carry on …
