Affirmative action had a negative affect on the black workforce, because now when we see a black promoted, we question the reason. If you say you do not, then you earned 5 more points to full membership in the “liars Club”

Conservative writer/scholar Thomas Sowell said the very same when his kids were accepted to Ivies. They were devastated when their credentials were questioned. Gee whiz, I’m sure his kids were never academically capable to earn a spot in Harvard’s freshman class. (Snark alert!)

I am not saying that some were not qualified. Many were. But with affirmative Action it makes you WONDER.

Exactly and that was Sowell’s point. Too many unqualified students are granted entrance to the best schools and fail to graduate and those that are qualified have to suffer from that stigma.
You don’t start at the college level to prepare kids; it has to come long before during K-12 and this is why I’m incensed that the most successful charter schools (particularly The Success Academy network located in Harlem, South Bronx and Bed-Stuy) are not supported and have to fight for their existence.
If I hear one more time that these schools “teach to the test” I’ll scream! The info you need to ace these tests is important to learn!!!
