Update on the Apple

Eric Adams is elected as New York City’s second black mayor.

He made combating gun violence and improving public safety a main focus of his campaign, while also calling for cuts to the NYPD’s budget and the shifting of some jobs to civilians that have been done by officers, which he says could save the city up to $500 million a year.

Say what???

    1. The most important thing I learned living in NYC is never, ever, mess with the NYPD. They can be your best friends or your worst enemies and this guy, who was dressed in blue himself is calling for civilians to take over $500 million dollars worth of responsibilities from cops?

That should go over well. Looks like I’ll never be visiting the Apple again. ):

P.S. “Civilians” is code for politicians who know soo much about patrolling the streets of Bed-Stuy, South Bronx, East Harlem. I knew cops in NYC and the instincts and street experience needed to do that job are mind-boggling. (I could write an entire book on how to detect whether a perp is “carrying” because my roommate’s bro was a narcotics detective.)
