  3. I would like to hold, caress, and smell this codex! The soft, worn blue of the cover looks like my precious Yeats volume, which I won as a prize back in high school. So perfect!
    (I also love the red of old-book covers, faded to a pinkish-beige…and then there’s the brassy brown of even older books. )
    I just know it smells wonderful, too, I’ll bet: The pulpy slightly mildewy bouquet of aged high quality paper. A treasure, Simon!
