Let us pray for the help and guidance of God in this time of War.
V. God is our hope and strength;
R. A very present help in trouble.
OALMIGHTY God, King of all kings, and Governor of all things, whose power no creature is able to resist, to whom it belongeth justly to punish sinners, and to be merciful to them that truly repent: Save and deliver us, we humbly beseech thee, from the hands of our enemies; abate their pride, assuage their malice, and confound their devices; that we, being armed with thy defence, may be preserved evermore from all perils, to glorify thee, who art the only giver of all victory; through the merits of thy only Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Or this,
OALMIGHTY Lord, who art a most strong tower to all them that put their trust in thee: Be now and evermore our defence; give victory to the forces of the Queen; look in pity upon the wounded and the prisoners; cheer the anxious; comfort the bereaved; succour the dying; have mercy on the fallen; and hasten the time when war shall cease in all the world; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Whooo, those made me cry!
“be thou my battle shield, sword for the fight!
Be thou my dignity, thou my delight—
Thou my soul’s shelter, thou my high tower,
Bear thou me heavenward O power of my power!”
And Thank you especially to combat veterans. I think it goes without saying around here, but I will say it anyway-those who fight with Blackwater are all combat veterans.
One of Robin’s friends served in the Marines in the 1980’s, I think. When talking about his service, he always pointed out that he was never in combat, and he always made it clear that he understood the difference between a veteran and a combat veteran. Very cool guy, he was an usher in our wedding.
As for those sad “Americans” who really don’t respect combat veterans, what can be said? “Forgive them, Father for they know not what they do.” Your place in Heaven is so high, Simon. So incredibly high.
The Scots have a “Prayer for a Warrior Going Out”. A benison to all encamped tonight..

There were a few in support roles such as Intel but they were few. We were heavy with trigger pullers not desk jockeys.

…and nobody respected them anyway.

Not true, Simon. America is filled to the rafters with good people, but you won’t meet most of them on the internet, present company excluded.
