Last night my Texas Tech Red Raiders defeated the Mississippi State Bulldogs in a stunning upset, 34-7. Here are some highlights:
Coaching Mississippi State was Mike Leach, who was Texas Tech’s head coach from 2000 to 2009. I have long been a fan of Leach, but there was no way I was going to root against my alma mater. Guns Up!

Was this a tough victory to enjoy Mike knowing the “pirate” was coaching MS State? Not to be a downer, but he put together a great program at TT during his tenure there. I’m a little melancholy and I don’t even care about the Big 12.
Good to see your cheerleader pictures are back to their usual standard!

It was a little bit melancholy, I’ll admit. It was the first time I had ever rooted against a Leach-coached team.

However, it was great seeing Tech win their first bowl game since 2013 and post their first winning season since 2015.

Believe me, I understand! Last night I watched the 2021 Michigan-OSU game for the third time since Thanksgiving. That game will never get old…
Not to mention the Heisman ceremony. Even though Hutch had no shot at it, it was fun to see the Maize and Blue represented on that stage!

I think Michigan will go to the National Championship. Alabama exposed Georgia’s weaknesses in the SEC championship game.
