China’s damming of the upper Mekong River is leading to the extinction of the Mekong Giant Catfish.

Remember the advice I gave a few years ago about buying rice futures when the rice paddies of Cambodia, Laos, and Thailand were flooded? I am told that was mainly due to the Chinese poor ability coupled with indifference to manage the water flowing downstream from the upper Mekong River.
