As both of the readers of my blockbuster Winning the Peace series can testify, there is a mention in one or two of them of using trade as a completely integrated part of our nation’s defense strategy.
Riffing off current events, let me see if I can begin to form my thoughts on how that might look. Help and advice are most welcome.
There will be four levels only: Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Loser.
Gold: Complete free trade (for the time being I’ll let you define free trade any ol’ way that you want to).
Silver: Even playing field.
Bronze: Free for all; we will reward and punish other countries as well as specifically targeted companies indiscriminately
Loser: 100% embargo in all directions.
Any and all countries placing on the Star System McTemplar© or SSM for short would also be dependent on their trade with Loser countries. One ‘bad’ trade and they would immediately be knocked down to silver or worse. People need to sell to us. Make them get on board for the big score.
OK – that’s all I have for now. Pleased to begin the ripping this OP to shreds ceremony.
Why should one “rip to shreds” a simple, comprehensible, and useful framework? Methinks China should immediately go into the “embargo”/Loser category, to keep its client Russia company.

L2 (in particular the military expert now pontificating for L1) said this was all out of some DOD manual called Nation Building. That was after 10¢ had suspended me for life. When Judy asked how that worked, she also got suspended for life. One just does not ask certain questions of certain people and expect to survive for long afrterwards. Haakon Dahl/ BDB does not take well to be questioned on things he has written that indicate he is lying and/or misinformed.
