Yeah, wannabees imitate those they wish they could emulate. If that means uncredited “borrowing” of terms/concepts/ideas/whole posts, that’s how they roll. Sad and maddening.
But my punishment was to have weekend duty from then until TBS was complete and IOC began BBD soulmates and myself. Some of the ‘stink’ of the punishment (no one remembers the crime) surely stayed with me.

This brings back a memory. A long time ago, one of my older cousins was discussing the issue of boys doing ballet in the presence of her young sons. They started to snicker. “It’s ok for boys to do ballet!” She assured them. “It tames you!” she said. They both just burst out laughing, and one of them, with his little arms across his chest, looked straight at her, smiling, and said “Nothin’s gonna tame me.” So cute. He was a wild child. He is much older now, and a good kid, but he was wild as a teenager.
In my ST UnWoke! avatar pic I was the best rank in the Marines, a Lance Criminal. Meaning I was prior enlisted.
My officer’s commission came via the Enlisted Commissioning Program (ECP).

I am pretty sure “BBD” is a shortened name you devised and I heard it first from you, on this site?

First heard it on L1.

They have adopted it as their own.

Yup…Marine dictionary gets raided again. That’s where all the cool acronyms hang out, y’know. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right?

All wannabees will step this low to be kool?

No, just those who want it most, but are least able to fully attain it. Truly pitiable.

I would be happy just to get the occasional hat tip and an explanation how they use my IP as if it were their private code.

It seems a reasonable pair of requests to me, but: one wonders whether they’re at all open to reason.

Did I tell you about getting busted at The Basic School for flying to SoCal for a weekend without the proper paperwork?

What is the difference between OCS and TBS? I get that OCS is Officer Candidate School, what do they teach at The Basic School?

All Marine officers must go through it. They get a taste of the grunt’s world and few if any like it.

And you, who had already been a grunt, was in the bottom half of the class under “Lefty’s” tutelage? Yeah, right. That guy was a jerk 😦

I was going infantry so I didn’t really care.
There were always more seats than arses wanting to be in those Infantry Officer Course (IOC) seats.
Which is the thing that gets me about trying to push young ladies through the course without lowering standards. How does that work?

The whole point of everything is to lower standards. That is the whole point.
