Right now, I am watching the Press dinner thing that is going on in D.C. Trevor Noah is speaking, and he is taking the piss out of Biden.
“Things have really been looking up since you were elected, President Biden. Rent is up, gas is up, inflation is up.” (paraphrasing, I can’t remember the exact words he used)
“You have done more than any other President for marginalized groups. I am talking women, LGBTQ people, the Taliban….”
And for the press, he had this: “When Trump was in office, all you talked about was how bad Trump was. Now that Biden is in office, all you talk about is how bad Trump was. Consistency is important.”
He took the piss out of some republicans too-that is to be expected. I am very pleasantly surprised by his willingness to roast both the left and the right. It’s about time.

He is finishing up with a very patriotic, pro-American message. “I stood here tonight and made fun of the President of the United States, and I am going to be fine. Do you understand what a blessing this is?”

It wasn’t funny, and he didn’t mean it to be. Trevor Noah remembers Afghanistan, and he wants everyone else to remember too. I never paid much attention to him before-I just figured he was a run of the mill leftist-but he has gone way up in my estimation.
