So yesterday in the locker room of my country club I say hello in Korean to some random Korean.
Hilarity did ensue.

The guy asks me where I am from in English. So I replied in English, “I am American.”

I guessed he was Korean and said hello to him in his native language.

Almost all foreigners try to look down on Americans because they believe we all speak only one (1) language.

I told the guy that I liked two Korean meals in particular and he (acted?) as if he did not understand me but his friend did.

So I told him my Korean wasn’t very good then asked him in the Thai language whether or not he could speak Thai. Since we were in Thailand it seemed like a reasonable question to ask under the poor “comms” situation we were experiencing.

He grunted at me which I thought was peculiar.

So I asked him, speaking faster than any machine gun, in about ten different foreign languages whether or not he could speak that particular language.

I think the Mongolian in particular is what got him, although my Thai is improving over time.

There are two possibilities as to what is going on here: Possibility one: she is feigning insecurity because doesn’t want to come across as arrogant. Or, if she really seriously thinks that she is fat….I don’t even know how to respond to that.
