“Fine People” Redux

In an attempt to depose the current King of Late Night, Greg Gutfeld, the Left is now accusing him of Anti-Semitism.

it’s a reprise of what they did with Trump, who said (far too generously in my view) that there were “fine people on both sides” of the debate about removing statues of Confederate heroes. ( No, Trump did NOT say that the neo-Nazis marching through Charlottesville were “fine people”. )

Yesterday on The Five, frog-voiced Jessica Tarlov was talking about some educational curriculum which apparently,points out that enslaved Africans learned trades which served them well after emancipation. Little children shouldn’t be told that, she croaked, it might “confuse” them. (Oh, but it’s OK to tell them they don’t know what sex they are and they have to choose their own gender?😂😂) She then mentioned the Holocaust. So Greg asked if she had ever read Frankl’s book about that, wherein the author states that the only way to stay alive in the camps was to be useful to the Nazis in some way. “Utility kept you alive!”

Greg was NOT saying—nor was Frankl—that Jews benefitted by the Holocaust, NOR that the Holocaust wasn’t all bad because Jews learned useful skills in the camps. Frankl was just pointing out that making oneself indispensable or useful to the captors in some way was the only thing that might give them a reason not to select you at random for the ovens on any given day. You might live another day, and then another. …

Why am I on about this? Because Gutfeld! anodyne as the show often is, is basically the only thing keeping me sane. His popularity reassures me that I am not alone in despising the Left. That of course is the very reason they’re attempting to destroy him over this-all the while denigrating Israel.

if Greg Gutfeld “apologizes” for these remarks (y’know, one of those moments where the camera zooms in on the reporter’s face as he/she begs America’s forgiveness for speaking the truth)— I dk, I may just descend into gibbering madness myself.
