  1. I always kind of thought that was what a lot of fights were like, especially when alcohol is involved. But I have never been in a fight, so I really don’t know πŸ™‚

      1. “Ignite spontaneously” LOL πŸ™‚

Chix and male pride probably about covers it. Have I ever told you about the time my mother and her sister ignited a bar fight between the Springfield, MA and Westfield, MA fire departments?

      2. My mother and her sister were at the Saint Patrick’s Day parade in Holyoke, and were waiting in line afterward for a seat at a restaurant. Some guy that my aunt knew saw them and invited them to join his party-his party was upstairs, and they were the Springfield firefighters. Across the hall, also upstairs, were the Westfield firefighters. My mother and aunt were from Westfield, and they were recognized by some of the Westfield firefighters. The Westfield guys were not pleased that my mother and her sister were hanging out with the Springfield guys, and objected, and then the Springfield guys objected back, and then a huge brawl ensued. My mother and aunt immediately left. The fight made the paper the next day, but there was no mention of my Mom or her sister-they made it out in time πŸ™‚

This happened when they were in their twenties, and single, long before I was born. My Mom never even told us about it until a few months before she died.

      3. Because more pain usually brings better compliance. ‘Getting right with the Lord’ vis-a-vis another person is redneck speak for looking for a fist fight.

  2. I was just beginning to understand the concept of same-same when they hit me with same-same but different. I am still meditating on the meaning but sometimes it seems clear; then I lose it.
