Simon and I were talking the other night, and the subject I am about to write about came up. As always, I have Simon’s permission to write about this.
Over 30 years ago, at some point shortly before or after the 1st Persian Gulf War, the deep state started purging experienced Marine Corp grunts from the ranks. They purged over 90% of trained Marines after the first enlistment. They made it so that enlisted Marines had to compete with each other in order to continue on in the Marines. The augmentation rate, meaning, the rate of re enlistment, was under 10%, by design. These Marines were being forced out.
There are two possible reasons why the powers that be would do this. The first, suggested by Simon, was that the people in charge were so confident after the success of the 1st Gulf War that they believed that there would never be another major war, and that experienced Marines were no longer necessary. The second possible reason, also suggested by Simon, is more sinister: the powers that be were purposely weakening the Marine Corp because they viewed experienced Marines as a threat to their power.
Simon pointed out that many people who are not familiar with the military do not understand that the skills of a Marine Corp grunt are highly perishable. There is too much physical and mental demand to get out of it and then get back in. For instance, battalion alerts: before cell phones, a battalion alert could be called at any time. When it was called, the battalion had perhaps 12 or 24 hours to get into formation: they were not told whether it was just an exercise or whether they were going to war for real. Can you imagine living with that kind of stress, 24/7? This is just part of what Simon means when he says that the skills of a grunt are perishable.
So, why would the government/deep state want to purge 90% of experienced Marines? I am going with Simon’s second reason: there is no good reason to purge 90% of grunts. There are only bad reasons. The deep state was purposely weakening the Marine Corp because the deep state knew that good Marines are a serious threat to would be tyrants. Keep in mind: this happened or started happening over 30 years ago, before 9/11.
And there is reason to believe that it isn’t just happening in the Marine Corp. I saw a video the other day in which a highly experienced former FBI agent was being interviewed. He said that in the old days, the FBI recruited most agents from the military and law enforcement: they wanted real gum shoe detectives who understood how to investigate cases. Not anymore. At least since Comey took over, they are now recruiting high tech sorts of people who would fit in well at Google, but who have no real idea of how to deal with crime.
Your deep state at work.

Before I say anything else, thank you Judy for letting the light of day touch this conspiracy theory.

Well, for at least several years now, the “conspiracy theorists” have turned out to be always right, so I am proud to be counted among them 🙂

Sidebar: Thailand has made a (an?) 180 on their marijuana laws and that seems to be good so far for promoting a certain type of tourism.

I voted in favor of legalizing marijuana in Massachusetts, and I am kind of regretting it. I don’t smoke it, so it’s not personal for me, except now there is a new pot shop on every corner, and more being established all the time. No like.

Seeing a wee bit of that here too.
First it was with coffee shops and now it’s ganja from Lucies and up.

I understand that until recently, Thailand was very heavy handed about pot, but I feel like I don’t want to live in a place that is too easy going and too far to the other extreme.

I almost got whiplash with the change here.

I bet! It seems like they went from zero to 10,000 in an instant. Mass was always pretty laid back about pot, so it wasn’t such a sudden change.

The FBI hires the kind of people that they want to arrest. The FBI (as well as all alphabet soup government agencies) wants to work in environments they understand and can easily control. That’s why they started surveillance of church parking lots and school board meetings instead of worrying about the people infiltrating our once great nation.

We need Trump back so badly. Please God.

Funny thing happened just before the military purged nearly 90% of it’s most rabid warriors and defenders of the US Constitution – we went to war.

The people in charge are pure evil and have been for a while. The emergence of Trump has made that clear.

So TPTB told the junior grunt officers who/m they just told to find a new career that that effort would have to wait until the oncoming war was over or they were KIA/WIA.

Can you say – DeepState?

I don’t think I am alone in wondering, when did this start and how long has it been going on?
Did you know that the term “conspiracy theory” was created by TPTB after Kennedy’s assassination, to discourage people from asking questions?

They will call us part of the hated “right wing militias” and good forbid they diagnose you with PTSD ‘cause they’ll be coming after your guns for your ‘own protection.’
