  1. Fridays-Sundays was time and a half at $7.40 hourly for unskilled labor.

This was me with the Stop and Go signs for the ladies, I mean traffic, without a shirt and collecting phone numbers.

  2. The men who do these incredibly dangerous and/or extremely unpleasant jobs are the people who make the world go around. We should all be genuflecting before them.

  3. I am so proud to be descended from a very long line of men who did these incredibly dangerous and unpleasant jobs. I genuflect before them.

    1. Many of my living relatives and friends still do these extremely dangerous and unpleasant jobs. I genuflect before them, and before all men who put themselves in danger to make the world go around.

  4. Speaking of men who put themselves in danger, I recently learned that one of my little cousins was awarded the Bronze Star for heroism in either Iraq or Afghanistan. I don’t know which-he did several tours and served in both countries.

He ran into danger in order to save a bunch of guys. I call him my little cousin, but he is actually only 7 or 8 years younger than me. I remember holding him when he was a baby.

He was married to a red headed hairdresser who did not appreciate him at all, in any way. After about 20 years of putting up with her BS, he told her to hit the road, and he seems to be very happy with his second wife.

Good men are awesome creatures. All women, myself included, owe them a huge apology. The way women in general have been treating men in general these past 50 or so years is a disgrace. Please, Lord, deliver us.

      1. He was never full time military: he enlisted in the National Guard as a very young man and stayed in for a long time. I am pretty sure that he started off in the Air National Guard but switched over to Army National Guard. Although I could be wrong about that, but he was definitely National Guard.
