”Palace Coup”?

I just had an epiphany, grâce à Roger Kimball on American Greatness this morning: what we just saw with Biden and Harris was the opposite of a “coup”, a term which implies a revolutionary upset of the existing order. But, Trump wasn’t wrong to call it that, because a “palace coup”, as opposed to other coups, always IS an attempt to keep the REAL “power behind the throne” firmly in place.
In the case of Catherine the Great and the Emperor Claudius, this was literally true: the soldiers who guarded their citadels installed them after a series of bloody murders. They don’t do it because they want change; they do it to preserve their own privileges and prerogatives.

It can also be done softly, like when, as is widely believed, George III’s ministers got fed up and smothered him with a pillow. (cant get any softer’n THAT!)

And now, tired Ol’ Obamala Hapless is being installed. And airbrushed: yes Biden DID name her “border czar”; Greg Gutfeld showed the proclamation from 3/24/21, using that very term. We should all have T-shirts made.
After quite a lot of phumphering, due to the fact that she polled even worse than her boss, the Dems are now giddy with relief! Yes, she’s a nobody who never did anything. PERFECT! That’s not a bug, it’s a feature! She can be controlled just as easily as Joe was. Indeed, she”ll be desperate to be told exactly what to say! AND nobody will dare attack her: the first ‘black”(formerly known as Indian) female president!
Plus ça change, plus c’est la meme chose. Hapless doesn’t represent change: she represents stagnation.
