Does Today Change Anything?

If you’ve lived long enough you remember Henry Kissinger and his sonorous talk about the “Peace process” between Israel and its Arab neighbors. Hearing him say that, you just knew the present state of affairs was going to continue forever.
And it did, for the rest of our lives.

Until now.

Selfishly, I’m just wondering whether maybe the people who reviled us and cut us out of their lives because we voted for Trump, who saw him as a threat to Our Democracy and to world peace-will now admit, “Hey, maybe they were on to something!”

This is monumental. This is as world-changing as Napoleon’s conquests, but without the bloodshed.

But my prediction is: nah.

  1. Praying that change will come, Hyp, but this enmity goes back to David and Goliath, so it’ll take more than the string of minor miracles we’ve seen so far.
