Lately, I have been watching videos about St Bridget of Sweden. Very enlightening! The video linked to below is about her visions of purgatory, a place that I would very much like to avoid, after hearing her description of it. Money shot: 4:45-12:20.

Dearest Hypatia, if it is any comfort, as the Bible Says-Love covers a multitude of sins, and it is in forgiving that we are forgiven. If I understand things correctly, the more merciful we are with others, the more merciful God will be with us.
According to St Bridget, the souls in purgatory are suffering, but they are at peace with their suffering. They totally accept it, because they know that in the end, they will be fine.
