  1. Well, between Simon, Liz and Nanda, we have a great deal to live up to: all three of you are highly skilled gift givers. This is going to be fun 🙂

    1. OMG are we all supposed to send Simon a present? I couldn’t begin to imagine what to get for the man who has everything! ( But—can I get credit for supplying a shiny new vocabulary word: pulchritude?)

      1. No worries, Hyp, this one has been in the works for about a year (loooong story). Just very blessed to know it’s reached its intended recipient, at last. (Big smile)

      1. “Oh. Nanda, I assume this is the package which was, um, waylaid
?”

        Indeed, it was, dear Hyp
.That’s part of the reason for the overflowing joy now. It’s finally ‘home’!

  2. It’s”Lights out” here, dear ST, ‘Sieurs, and ‘Ettes: Enjoy the afternoon/rest well through the night – whichever’s appropriate. I’ll be back for brunch at the corner table – the visit will warm me up, as always. Anybody got a Sunday post topic, or a “Stump the Chaps” question? Please/thanks…..Peace be in and with us all! Chao for now; Hasta entonces!

    1. Do not Catholics consider all Popes to be successors to the Apostle Peter? If so, how does that work?

Why is Peter considered to be a role model for modern Christians? He was apparently a hotheaded liar, was he not?

Feel free to break these down into separate OPs if that works better for you.

      1. Yes, it’s the “Apostolic succession” From Simon Peter on down. Transferred by the “laying on of hands”, (But it isn’t the old pope who touches the new one, I reckon it’s the Cardinals…Nanda will know. )
And why Peter? Cuz Jesus said so. He was plain Simon, Jesus renamed him Peter, “rock” , and said : on this rock will I build my church.
He was a hothead, carried a sword, probably because he was an Essene. He got scared and denied knowing Jesus, 3X. So, he was very human. I think Christians feel: if Jesus loved and used this cowardly, irascible fisherman, I can be saved, too. But I think the key thing was Peter believed Jesus was God. I think that’s all you really have to do, innit?

    1. I have learned the meaning of patience as a hospital patient. After a few life-threatening injuries, one begins to understand what Einstein meant by relativity.

Whenever you address me as “Thin Ice”, Your Graciously Unleashedness, I feel the closeness of your observation, sir.

  4. “What is it that you believe you are learning?”

Calm, in many ways; a (hopefully) stronger linking between thought and response in conversation, here, so you don’t hafta read code – and I don’t hafta break it.

And, seriously, a return to self-care on a daily basis – because I deserve to be: physically and spiritually strong, at peace and at home with and in myself. Not to say that silliness won’t be enjoyed and indulged in (Laughter yoga is my favorite form.) But, I’ve gotta get back to my personal best, to recover and unleash wholeness, so I can more fully share it. Don’t worry, I won’t be a wet blanket: far from it…..

  5. Settled; letting myself and the day unwind: found a really cool video of a guy who’s chair- mobile doing adapted upper-body tai chi/chi gong moves (no ‘instruction’, just some non-intrusive music.) I was doing something more intense for awhile, wore myself out. Just watching it mellowed me out and felt good. (I promise not to bore y’all with this topic.)

    1. First teensy step working out with this today: Whoa! Nice and easy, noticed a difference right away. Sent the dude a positive comment, actually. Also, didn’t use straws to drink today; lifted cup and glass….Centered, happy, peaceful day.
(Except when *someone* called me ‘lethal’….) On my way back, one step at a time.

      1. PS :“You’re working”, not “your”….so egregious I can’t resist retracting.
Second embarrassing typo or auto-correct gaffe for me already this AM; in the Mischief in a comment I wrote “thong” for “thing”. đŸ„” and these errors on a full night’s sleep!
