Please, God, Bring Back The Patriarchy

Some effing commission that was appointed by Congress is going to recommend to Congress that women be included in registration for the draft. You can read about it here: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/24/us/women-military-draft-selective-service.html

The Pentagon has so far declined to comment. Numerous polls have shown that most women are opposed to making women register for the draft, but most men support the idea; a majority of both sexes support women serving in combat. A majority of women want women to be able to serve in combat, and a majority of women are opposed to drafting women. But where did these GI Janes who don’t want to be drafted think all of this was going to end up? Are they really so stupid that they actually believed that they could have their cake and eat it too forever? Poll after poll indicates that the answer to that question is, yes.

Look, some of my best friends are women; I am a woman, I like women, really I do, and some women are very smart, but too many of us are not. Too many women are too dumb, we shouldn’t be allowed to vote: I would happily give up the right to vote in order to lift the yoke of feminism off my neck. I would happily give up the right to vote in order to live in a country where most men don’t want to drag women off to war with them.

  1. And what really gets me is this: the same people who want to draft women into combat positions also believe that a woman who dies, or risks death so that her unborn child can live is a crazed fanatic. The military is not the only place where heroism exists, and men are not the only ones who are ever called to be heroes: women do heroic things all the time. The most obvious example of this is school shootings: every time there is a school shooting, we hear of the teachers, most of them female, who shielded their students with their own bodies, and in most cases paid with their lives. But the media spends no time on that story: women who sacrifice themselves to protect children are given very short shrift, while women who lower standards and disrupt the military are glorified for their bravery.

  2. I’m grateful for their service, and all, I guess…but I hate it whenever I see a woman in our volunteer army who has little kids at home whom she hasn’t seen for months..it’s like, lady, thank you, and all, but: you already HAD a job: your children.

  3. JaC, it’s the “she-males” who want this; remember the “Equal Rights Amendment” campaign? Well, equal rights also entail equal responsibility. This is the ‘logical’ conclusion to all of that…You’ve arrived, baby. Incidentally, “no” to combat-arms, yes to what we already do in support of our brothers in the field.

  4. P.S. Since the last truly educated – rather than indoctrinated – XY biologically-aware, identifying males are now in their fifties and up…Ditto for the XX side of the equation: Who’s gonna bring it back, actually?

    1. I am hoping that young military guys, or future young military guys will realize how much more effective they would be without women in their ranks, and put their foot down. I can’t write what I think about the top brass who are allowing this to happen.

Actually, though, the most likely outcome is that they will get rid of the draft altogether, or be even more reluctant to implement it than they already are.

This made me laugh, J, because you’re so brave to speak the truth.

As to the military, I pay for this:

The biggest, meanest, macho sons of bitches the govt can recruit to protect our rear ends. The military is not an affirmative action program! It’s special and requires certain physical, mental characteristics that most women do not have. Why is this a topic of controversy?

I know I don’t have the skill sets Simon has, but I have plenty of my own that actually benefit society in a different manner. What is this obsession libs have with being equal? We’re not equal; we’re different.

    That’s a good thing.

It occurred to me I should explain my concurrence with this totally “un-woke” comment but I must say I know too many suburban women (including my best friend) who have a 140 IQ but don’t care to use it.

    1. What is it they say about some ideas being so dumb that only a highly educated person could believe in them? Putting women in combat positions is one of those 🙂

      1. Judy, I am reminded of your OP about FemiNAZIs having painted themselves into a corner from which they will never say thank you to men. I suppose they would never ask a man for help either. Wonder who opens jars for them?

If they are so awesome (and they are because they never pass on the chance to tell me that, so it must be true) then why haven’t they done more/ anything to free their sisters around the world?

      2. Feminism has nothing to do with helping women: feminism is hatred of both men and women, straight up. That is why feminists care nothing for oppressed women around the world; they don’t even care about disadvantaged women in America. They don’t care about anyone except their own damned selves.

      3. What truly upsets me is that NOW and the NAACP actually did some good work in the 60s and 70s. Unfortunately (for them) they succeeded and left too many people out of work: Jesse Jackson and my ex-icon Gloria Steinem.

Now we have to deal with Al Sharpton and the entire #metoo movement who work very hard to destroy the accomplishments made.

  9. Oh gosh…You think women shouldn’t be allowed to vote because some women are dumb? Revoking female suffrage would be a terrible perversion of the Bill of Rights. (and yes, we didn’t have universal suffrage when the document was written, but we had an ideal. The Constitution is an ideal document that we get better at living up to every year).
The founding fathers were naturalists. They believed that certain human rights simply existed in nature. They were granted by God.
Basically, you can be an idiot and you still have these rights. You don’t have to do or be anything to earn these rights.
Please don’t be the type of antifeminist who veers into misogyny. I see it way too much and that makes it far too easy for the left to discredit us. “See! Women who don’t want women to have the vote!” It muddies the waters and makes it easy for liberals to ignore the strongest arguments of antifeminists.
I was a radical feminist for years, and I probably would have dropped the feminist label much sooner if it weren’t for so many antifeminists saying offensive things and arguing in favor of taking rights away from women. In my view, those people proved the need for feminism, and I saw feminism as my protection against people who wanted to take my rights away.

Also, plenty of dudes are morons too. It’s not a gender thing.

I hope you’ll think about what I said.

    1. Hey there, JY 🙂 (Is it ok if I call you JY? 🙂 Thanks for commenting, I understand what you are saying, and I was being tongue in cheek when I said that women shouldn’t have the right to vote. Sorry if that didn’t come across 🙂

      1. Lol 🙂 I was kind of in a pique when I wrote this-the whole women in combat thing drives me nuts, but I was being tongue in cheek. I think that way back when, when some men argued that women shouldn’t be able to vote because they didn’t fight in wars, that argument doesn’t really hold up, because there are plenty of men who either don’t or can’t fight in wars either, and no one was talking about taking away their right to vote. By the same token, the feminists who argue that equal rights should mean equal responsibility are falling into the same flawed thinking.

The men who gave women and who continue to give women the right to vote are showing incredible love to women, and as far as I can tell, that love has not yet been appreciated. I hope that someday it will be. I don’t want women to lose the right to vote; I want women to be smart enough and decent enough to appreciate the men who give them the right to vote.

  10. “Revoking female suffrage would be a terrible perversion of the Bill of Rights.”

jyvurentropy, I understand your point but I don’t think revoking female suffrage would even touch on, much less be a terrible perversion of the Bill of Right. The 19th Amendment of 1920 gave women (both/all sexes) the right to vote. What am I missing?

    Amendment XIX (1920)
The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex.

Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.
