..is fire. And anyone, everyone, can get gasoline.
So said an Armenian acquaintance of mine, who had been in Egypt when Nasser’s revolution brought down Farouk.
When I had that conversation, must be …35 years ago now, it obviously made a tremendous impression on me, since I remember it so clearly. But it seemed…foreign, remote, a historical curiosity.
I wish it still did.
Our America. They’re burning it down.
And anyone can light the flames. Anyone and everyone.
Take heart, Hypatia. They are losers, and they are losing.
Several different polls show Trump is getting between 18-24% of the black vote: he is also doing very well with hispanics in Florida. I read an article, can’t remember where it was from, but it said that young black voters are the ones giving Trump his boost in support. According to the article, younger black voters just aren’t buying into the democrat party the way their parents and grandparents do.
Leftists are pulling out all the stops because they are desperate. They know that this is their last chance. If we can just make it over the hump and through this election, we will be homefree.

Also, Hypatia, I saw your post on L2 about the Supreme Court of Pa ruling. I am not allowed to comment over there, so am asking here: can this decision be appealed to SCOTUS?

For those who don’t know, the Supreme Court of Pa ruled that mail in ballots can be accepted until three days after the election. They also threw the Green party candidates off of the ballot.

i kinda don’t think These decisions can be appealed to SCOTUS, unless somebody figgers out a way to “make a federal case out of it”. Everything to do with elections is governed by state laws, and this was Pa’s highest court interpreting Pa law. Its too bad, cuz it really lessens Trump chance of winning Pa, which I think He wasLikely to do, based on the number of Trump signs I see in Monroe, Schyulkill, Carbon counties. The stickler is suburbs, but they have to be crazy to vote Dem now that Trump has exposed and thwarted the OBiden plan to destroy single-family residential zoning! (But Then, they ARE crazy, so….)

It seems to me there is no need to have any knowledge of the law whatsoever to rule at either the State Supreme Court or Federal level. The Supremes are making it up as they go and their rulings are untethered to the Constitution. Time for the Executive Branch to impeach and or release in mass at the discretion of a Republican President, preferably this one.

All the dog-whistling is coming out of the Prog’s camp. I suspect many were encouraged to set our west ablaze.

They are suspecting arson in much of it – I’ve heard OR particularly mentioned – in that regard.

As my Uncle-Colonel’s oldest son in a conservative outpost in CA cautioned me two weeks ago: “Cousin, if you’re reading/watching the news – even on conservative outlets – it looks like the whole dang country’s burning. It’s *pockets*, blocks of neighborhoods. They’re not filming in rural anywhere. There’s a recall petition up for Gavin Newsome. Stay calm, Marine.” A public service announcement.

Absolutely! I live in Springfield, Massachusetts, not rural and definitely not a bastion of conservatism, but when antifa and blm showed up here, our democrat mayor greeted them with the National Guard. They had one peaceful-really, seriously, peaceful-protest as the National Guard looked on. They haven’t been back since.
The burning is only happening in a few cities where a few mayors and governors are allowing it. Your cousin is right on in pointing that out.

America is too stupid to live.
Hypatia, bring your clan to join me in Chile. It is somewhat like California reversed geographically speaking with the advantage you don’t have to learn to speak Spanish unless you want to.
I hated Miami where I often felt almost forced to speak Spanish in some barrios.

“America is too stupid to live.”
Will you take this statement back if President Trump is re elected in November? And promise to never say it again? 🙂
