Impressive

Well folks, this is my final and hopeful post for DJT. I wanted to show everybody why I have always admired Hong Kong and when I visited there (under British colonial rule) in the 90s I almost fainted at the level of pure and true capitalism practiced by her citizens. (5% fed income taxes for starters.)

My favorite comment was made by a successful female entrepreneur who, over dinner, asked me about the popularity of the welfare state in the U.S. Before I could even open my mouth, she said,

“This doesn’t happen here because we worry about saving face.”

I was wowed.

  1. Thank you, Liz, it is very encouraging to see this. Trump has generated so much goodwill internationally. Low info Americans need to be made more aware of this.

  2. As an aside, my reaction to Hong Kong during my business trips was laced with jealousy. That country was a pleasure to do business with; their work ethic made ours appear pathetic by comparison but I was somewhat popular for teaching everyone new drinking games at dinner! (Simon would have been impressed.)

HK was the best of both worlds; work hard, play hard. Surely hope that stands true with my own country tomorrow.

Bless the USA on November 3.

  3. I just got back from Trump’s rally at Avoca Airport near Scranton. Thrilling, when Big gleaming Air Force One taxied up right next to the crowd! I don’t know how many people, but the throng extended as far as the eye could see, or mine, anyway. We entered about 12 :30 and had 1.5 hrs to wait. God it was cold! I don’t think I’ve ever been colder—I’m outside a lot in winter, and it really isn’t that cold yet, but I guess just sitting still in the wind…but it wasn’t boring, everybody was so happy and excited! And Trump’s speech did not disappoint. Such drive, energy! OH HOW CAN HE LOSE?!?!? If he doesn’t win, people are going to look back on this election and wonder how the people could hav rejected a president who had done so much for his country. Well—you can’t fake having a good time, and he certainly is! (And I feel better having yelled myself hoarse, the only thing remaining that I could do, having given money and voted.). God bless him and keep him and God save America!

    1. Glad to hear that you’re encouraged, Hyp; enthusiasm is probably going to be a key element. (How ‘bout Miz Harris’s showin’ off her newly-acquired Suthern accent? Hillarious….)
