Does it ever occur that “everybody” is doing the same or turns a blind eye? I’ve certainly reached this conclusion after listening to people from “nice” families who won’t even blink an eye. The defining moment for me:
My most beloved uncle who was wildly successful in business with a charming personality, a faithful husband and father to my most interesting cousins described Bill Clinton as “a person who did a few bad things.” I was his favorite niece so I kept my mouth shut and enabled this comment to pass without a scathing response.
