Unleashed is the only site I’ve so far been exposed to where the denizens have any fellow feeling and concern for each other. I have been abruptly and painfully excluded from two sites, and had another peremptorily terminated. And THEN, I have seen the founders of successor sites, some of them also former refugees, turn and do the same thing to others.
I’m getting very tired of it all. I only got involved with this blog-site thing because in 2016 somebody put a pro-Trump post from R> on Facebook, and I thought it would be a place where I could celebrate the Love That Dared Not Speak Its Name. (Was I ever wrong about THAT!)
It’s like watching a herd of animals. Horses will menace each other, a dominant one will keep the others away from the water or food- then, when he or she tires of that, one of the previously submissive animals will step up and menace the even-less powerful. And so on down.
But hey: they’re animals. As far a I know, anybody using a keyboard is a human. So what’s their excuse?
All this is just to thank you, Simon, and the ‘Ettes, and all the others reading and Liking us, for your kindness, consideration, and human fellow-feeling! Unleashed is a standout in that regard. Please let’s never change! Молодец!

There is a civilized and non- abrasive way to discuss the tough issues that does not leave you with the impression that the OP is a curmudgeon and an unhappy person.
I vote the Ettes as the people most likely to bring up a controversial subject in a gentle, firm, and intellectual manner. They state their points and I love their posts because they’re smart and simply encourage responses!

Really, it’s a rare gent (and our Saint is one,) who will actually listen to what women say, orally or in print (except in the instances where the guy wants to repeat a witticism or Idea as his own a bit later…I’ve noticed my own elliptical writing style (hafta, gonna, I’m’na, etc) being coopted elsewhere…pinced, y’might say…)
Yes I’m uncharacteristically feministically angry today—I love men as you and the others know. And I hate some (many) women! But with women it’s usually (thought)crimes of passion, to which I can relate…unlike to the Mayors of Out-Casterbridge!

I agree and I tease ST about this all the time! How does Macho Man Marine, DEA agent, and Blackwater Guard get along with the Ettes? He isn’t “trying” because I sense he genuinely gets and enjoys us all.
Unusual guy indeed.
I’m stopping now because Mr. ST may get too big a head and one must watch these military egos. 🙂
